Vaal Dam was this morning (28/12) at 107.6% with an inflow of 247m³ / second. The 1st sluice gate was opened at 10h00 and a 2nd at 12h00. The level and inflow are constantly monitored and more sluices may be opened later. This is done very carefully because the dams downstream are also full and authorities aim to avoid possible flood damage. The record level of 118.5% was reached on 19 February 1996.
