ANOTHER STEP FORWARD

On Monday, 13 June 2022, Mafube Business Forum (MBF) met with Mr. Thomas Mkaza, Provincial EXCO Representative, who is leading the intervention team at Mafube, Mr. Luvuyo Ntoyi, Provincial EXCO Representative responsible for Technical Services for this period of administration and Mr. Josie Ralebenya, MM of Mafube. The team will later be joined by other experts in Financial Management. The meeting was a positive step in the right direction. Mr. Mkaza sees a bright future for Mafube, should things be put in order. He is well aware of the issues Mafube are dealing with and is also not oblivious to the fact that hard work will have to be put in, to streamline systems and procedures. He remains positive, and believes that his team of professionals with their expertise will be able to make a difference.

"Magicians we are not, but with a clear roadmap, goals can be achieved."

MBF appreciates his realistic and methodical approach. Mr. Mkaza emphasized the value of transparency, which MBF agrees is the cornerstones of trust; something that has been absent at the municipality for very long. A formal roadmap is in preparation with the first phase of the intervention, (The Rescue Phase) to be completed within 2-3 months after it has been approved and implemented.

Mr. Ntoyi is a qualified engineer appointed to take care of the technical and infrastructure issues at the municipality. Mr.Mkaza envisage a series of meetings with the various stakeholders to build on the progress made.
