During the town hall meeting of 7 June 2023, Rural Free State presented a proposal to cut back loadshedding for Frankfort residents.
As Promised
We are ready to share the estimated costs for investing in the storage solution that would serve the town. Take note the solution requires the buy-in from an entire zone to either: • Invest 100% of their capital contribution and pay only a supplementary charge to cover the round trip energy loss, insurance and maintenance. • Or invest 50% of their capital contribution, have the other 50% financed by a participating commercial bank and pay only a supplementary charge to cover the round trip energy loss, insurance and maintenance. • Or participate in the backup tariff (when NERSA finally approves the required tariff). You will need your meter number to look up the cost.
