[Afr] Mafube Plaaslike Munisipaliteit het reeds riglyne gekry, maar dit bly 'n keuse om dit te gehoorsaam.

Op 6 Maart tydens 'n "Spesiale" Raadsvergadering, waartoe openbare toegang geweier is, is 'n Kode vir Etiese Leierskap in Plaaslike Regering aan Raadslede beskikbaar gestel. Die waarheid egter dat etiese gedrag 'n individuele keuse is.
'n Etiese munisipale leier:
Skep ‘n atmosfeer en stel voorbeeld van 'n etiese kultuur.
Volg 'n gemeenskapsgesentreerde benadering tot bestuur.
Respekteer die grens tussen die politieke en administratiewe sfere van die munisipaliteit.
Verseker die aanstelling van bevoegdheid personeel met integriteit.
Verseker die toepaslike vlak van bevoegdheid, integriteit en diversiteit op komitees en toesigstrukture.
Hanteer oortredings en swak prestasie eties, billik en beslissend.
Tree respekvol en konstruktief met ander munisipale leiers in gesprek.
Mafube Besigheidsforum sien uit na die implementering en aanvaarding van wat in ander bedrywe eenvoudig beskryf word as: "Doen jou werk."
[Eng] Mafube Local Municipality got some guidelines, but it remains a choice to abide.
On 6 March during a “Special” Council Meeting, to which public access was refused, a Code for Ethical Leadership in Local Government was made available to Council members.
Ethical leadership is an absolute prerequisite for successful developmental local government as envisaged by the Constitution. The truth, however, is that neither ethics, nor leadership can be legislated or externally enforced. It is an individual choice.
An ethical municipal leader:
1.Sets the tone for an ethical culture.
2. Follows a community-centred approach to governance.
3. Respects the boundary between the political and administrative spheres of the municipality.
4. Ensures the appointment of staff who have competence and integrity.
5. Ensures the appropriate level of competence, integrity, and diversity on committees and oversight structures.
6.Deals fairly and decisively with ethics transgressions and poor performance.
7. Engages respectfully and constructively with other municipal leaders.
Mafube Business Forum look forward to implementation and acceptance of what in other industries is called: "Doing your job."
