PETROL DISPOSAL DISTRIBUTION RESTRICTED

Transnet has informed MBF that the distribution of the petrol spill reported on 13 June has been stopped. A 7 km section of Holspruit (upstream of the Wilge River) is being cleared by Spilltech, a specialist pollution control company.

The last photo shows the point where the theft took place and equipment was damaged, which caused gasoline to end up in the creek.

The incident took place on the pipeline, which transports fuel from Durban to Gauteng.

MBF has learned that the spill was stopped in time and that it poses no danger to Frankfort and Namahadi. MBF is constantly kept informed by Transnet.
